As bikers, we are aware that, when riding on two wheels, we are more exposed and vulnerable on the road. Safety is important to us, and at AtlantisMOTO we know that. Therefore, with our systems we not only protect you against theft of your motorbike, but we also want to offer security for the biker in case of a possible accident. There are many questions that we receive regarding the AtlantisMOTO MAX PLUS fall detection sensor, in this post we will answer some of them:

How does the AtlantisMOTO fall detection system work?

The AtlantisMOTO fall detection system is a mechanical sensor that, when it detects an inclination when the bike is in motion, generates a warning to the main user and to the designated person or persons of trust via SMS.

This sensor is always included in the AtlantisMOTO MAX PLUS Pack. If you have an AtlantisMOTO MAX system and did not purchase this sensor at the time, you can also buy it as an accessory afterwards and connect it to your AtlantisMOTO MAX system. It’s never too late to think about your protection.

Where are SMS messages sent from?

SMS messages are sent from an external service that guarantees and certifies delivery anywhere in the world.

Do I have to carry my phone with me for it to work?

No, it is not necessary. If your AtlantisMOTO detects a fall, the system always acts automatically, even if your phone is at home, switched off, out of battery… The delivery is activated from the certified delivery platform. It is not necessary to activate anything, nor to have the phone nearby.

Is there any cost involved?

The fall sensor always includes 100 Atlantis Points, which are equivalent to sending 100 alerts (SMS) via the certified delivery platform. If you use up these points, you can recharge them via the App. They are sold in packs of 100, and are priced at €19.90.

Do Atlantis Points expire if I don't use them?

No, they do not expire if they are not consumed. They will always be available when you need them.

If my subscription has expired, does the alert work?

If your subscription is expired, the fall detection system will not work, and therefore you will be unprotected.

Does my AtlantisMOTO warn me if I run out of Atlantis Points?

Yes, when your points balance reaches 10, you will receive a warning via the App that your Atlantis Points balance is low. You will be able to access the shop to buy more. And don’t worry, they can be accumulated, you don’t have to wait until they run out to recharge them again.

Are Atlantis Points only used for the drop sensor?

This is the most common, but you can also use them to alert other functions to whoever you are interested in. For example: it can automatically alert someone when you reach the end of today’s route, defining a safety zone that alerts you when you enter it.

Why is an SMS sent?

It is sent by SMS for several reasons:

  • The recipient of this message does not need to install the App.
  • SMS is a “basic” method of communication that any mobile phone with a GSM connection can receive.
  • A minimum of coverage is enough to receive an SMS message with the detailed information. Which makes it more effective in low coverage situations.
  • It is universal, it can be sent to any phone in any country in the world.

What information is included in the SMS?

The SMS message sent includes:

  • The notice that a crash has been detected, with exact date and time when the crash detection occurred.
  • The exact location where the crash occurred.
  • Google Maps link to view on the map.

In summary, with AtlantisMOTO’s fall detection system, we provide you with an extra layer of protection and peace of mind while you enjoy freedom on two wheels. There’s no excuse not to prioritise your safety!
